KOREAN SKIN CARE: THE STEPS FOR YOUR ROUTINE

Hi Darlings,

This week we are going to dive into a shining and bubbled world: the K-beauty world!

The beauty addicted out there will already know what we are talking about. The Korean Skin-Care has arrived in Europe last may – more or less- and literally stole everybody’s hearts.

But which are the key steps and how to match them properly? This routine is structured on ten steps. We can say that its main core is the double cleansing with which we began the lineup. In this article we will show you the main steps and their peculiarity, in order of usage.

Are you ready? Take your seat and let’s start darlings!

1. Oily cleanser

Oil cleanser

The first step is the oil cleanser that should be applied on dry skin through circular motions. Oils help remove impurities and allow makeup and other residues left on the skin to be dissolved. If you have an oily, blemish and acne prone skin, you should repeat this step in the morning and at the end of the day.

2. Foaming cleanser

Floaming cleanser

The second step goes by with the first and together they create what is known as double cleansing. This is a very important step. The cleanser rinses makeup remover and other liquid-based agents such as sweat or pollution from the skin. Adding this step your skin will be renewed!

3. Exfoliation

Esfoliation

This step closes the first part of the K routine and it should be done more or less one time per week in order not to over-stress the skin, depending also from your skin type. Dry and sensitive skin should be exfoliated less than the greasy ones.

You can use both chemical or physical exfoliants, but remember: you should always adapt your skincare choices and schedule on your skin needs.

4. Tonic

Tonic

The fourth step open the hydration part of the routine, in order to refill the skin with all the properties needed. It is suggested using an acid PH or a product alcohol free. The aim of this step is to remove any possible cleanser residue and prepare the skin barrier to better absorb the moisturizer that will follow next.

5. Serum

Serum

This step is called also Essence in the Korean skincare, and it is the key part in the whole schedule. It is meant to soothe the skin, moisturize it, strengthen it and stimulate cell renewal once again, fighting aging. A good serum to use is a vitamin C based one, which will get an anti-oxidant boost to our skin.

6. Booster

This step is not mandatory and you can decide to deleted or keep it. It’s useful for specific tasks as reducing skin aging, acne scars or spots.

7. Eye Contour

Eye contour

Did you know that the eye patch used by US celeb are Made-in-Korea? Yes, darlings. Our drop-shaped friends were introduced by Korean skin care. They help reduce panda dark circle under our eyes in the morning, giving us positive vibes. You can use them one time per week, in order to help your eyes restore.

8. Face Mask

Face mask

This step, as well as the booster, is up to you. You can use nourishing and moisturizing masks if you have sensitive skin or you can alternatively choose a detox’s one if you have a more oily skin.

9. Face Cream

This step is crucial because in all the previous steps you will only make the skin perfect to receive the last dose of well-being. What kind of cream to use is up to you.

10. SPF

SPF

This step is the ultimate one in all the routines that are well structured. And should be repeated several times throughout the day. In the Korean Culture women always use hats or umbrella -in summer- to protect their skin from UVB and UVA rays. SPF is the most important step to protect and keep the health and beauty of your skin. Keep in mind that this step and the previous can be done in a single one, if you choose a face cream with a very high SPF range, of course!
