This weekend (while we had our fav watermelon face mask on) we were wondering how to make a fresh change to our hairstyles. After cold months spent with messy and boring hair we were looking for the right summer vibes to boost our style. This is why we started looking for the coolest tips for summer 2022. So…listen carefully, Darlings! There are two trends obsessing the internet right now: red hair and braids. As experimenting with red hair seems a little too drastic, let’s see what can be done with braids!
The coolest? The baby braids and the boho braids. Both of these looks have been adopted and loved by celebrities around the world.

BABY BRAIDS
Last year our feeds were covered by little baby braids for all the occasions, from Netflix pyjamas nights to gran gala dinners. Do you remember it? The style mainly involves single micro braids framing the sides of the face to add a little cool detail to ordinary looks.

We’ve also seen the trend evolve this year, with the addition of a personal touch. They can be worn alone, double or all over the hair. You can either leave your hair loosed or tied up with the baby braids left out. There is an option for everyone: for a pop style, we’ve seen them decorated with colorful elastics and beads, or for the minimalists, we spotted this clever hack to go hairband-free.

BOHO BRAIDS
This year the trend is back again, but with a new look, softer and wilder. It is called boho braid. The main feature of this braid is that it is left loose and wide, falling gently over the shoulders. The name comes from the bohemian style, which is reshaped with simple makeup and no ornaments. Occasionally you may see two loose locks falling to the sides of the face, or a tighter braid. It all started with Hailey Bieber (below) at Oscar Night 2022, who showed off a loose, low braid.

It has arrived, we have seen it, we have LOVED it. Over the past few days, so many tutorials and hairstylists making their version have popped up on Instagram and Tik Tok. The common denominator among all the styles seems to be the center parting. The beauty of this type of braid is that you can change it depending on the occasion and outfit.
Celebrity stylist Bryce Scarlett, who did Robbie’s braided look for Cannes, says that the key to keeping the look modern is not to be too precise with it. “Nothing about it needs to be perfect,” he says.
The point is, Darlings: the perfect braid is not perfectly composed but loose acting.
